My Top 5 Favorite Tools
How do I do it? Every great business owner has a great team behind them - even if that team mainly consists of apps. Here are a few of my faves.
1. SquareSpace
While SquareSpace takes a bit of learning upfront, it is my favorite hosting site by far (and trust me, I’ve tried them all). It keeps everything in one, intuitive place.
You can easily adjust the overall design of your site then quickly switch over to your email marketing campaigns within the same platform. Plus, you can plug in your favorite analytics software to keep track of key performance indicators.
2. UnSplash
Find yourself staring at the beautiful stock images on my site? I know, me too. They’re free-to-use, copyright-free photos from UnSplash.
Unsplash has the best collection of images to choose from. Expert photographers want to see their work out in the world. To do that, they upload their work for us to use on Unsplash. You’re welcome to give credit to the artists, but that’s 100% optional. Make your site and social media look crisp and clean with best-of-the-best images!
3. Canva
Man, it feels like I create everything on Canva these days. From graphics to banners to Instagram stories, Canva has a template and resource for everything under the sun.
If you’re sitting at your desk waiting for inspiration to strike for your next piece of online content, just start playing around on Canva and I’m sure you’ll come up with something great. It’s free to use and offers so many click-and-drag elements to make your content one-of-a-kind.
4. Later
My saving grace – thank you Later Gods. Stop spending every day posting your social media across five different sites and plug it all into Later instead. Later schedules posts for you and allows you to organize a library of images with customizable categories.
I save so much time by plugging everything into Later. It keeps me consistent too! If I have a meeting during the time I normally post on social, I now don’t have to worry about it anymore – Later’s got me covered.
5. Google Analytics
How is this free to use? In my previous jobs working at NBCUniversal, we always used Adobe Analytics which, like most Adobe products, costs a pretty penny to operate. Google Analytics gives you everything Adobe does, for free, with full, online hosting. What more could you ask for?
Google Analytics also works seamlessly with SquareSpace – keep track of your views and engagement easily with this dynamic duo!
